Method for determining mass concentration of organic amine alkalinizing agent in condensate
Tests were carried out to verify the effect of ethanolamine(ETA) and morpholine on determination of mass concentration of ammonia nitrogen(NH_3-N) in water by salicylic acid-hypochlorite spectrophotometry method and the effect of alkaline potassium persulfate digestion on determination of mass concentration of total nitrogen in condensate containing organic amine alkalinizer by UV spectrophotometry method. The results show that
the ETA and morpholine has no effect on detection of the ammonia nitrogen in condensate by salicylic acid-hypochlorite spectrophotometry method. The alkaline potassium persulfate digestion can be used to detect the mass concentration of total nitrogen in condensate containing organic amine alkalinity by the ultraviolet spectrophotometry method. According to mass concentration of the total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen in condensate
the mass concentration of the organic amine alkalizing agent can be calculated. Therefore
the mass concentration of ETA and morpholine in aqueous ammonia can be detected by combining the salicylic acid-hypochlorite spectrophotometry with the ultraviolet spectrophotometry.
