Simulation on heat discharge and heat storage performance of solid heat storage device with round and oval pore canals
In order to study the heat storage and discharge performance of solid heat storage devices
this paper adopts solid Magnesia(MgO) of good overall performance as the heat storage media. Different numbers of circular and elliptical channels were set up on the heat storage device
and air was used as the heat transfer media during the discharging process. The effects of pore shape and number on the heat storage device's heat discharge characteristics were investigated. Moreover
through simulation
the time of the heat storage media reaching the steady state in heat storage process
and the heat flow at the pipe outlet during the discharging process and other parameters were compared. The results show that
it speeds up the heat storage with elliptical channels while the longer spans are in the same direction as the heat storage flow. While the air flow goes deeper
large channel numbers makes the change of air speed and temperature in the same location larger
the more the heat release at the beginning
the less time releasing the same amount of heat takes. However
pore shape has little effect on the heat release. This study provides solid evidences for making better decisions about adopting channels and setting their locations
and provides references for scientific and reasonable application in heat supply system.
