Taking the municipal solid waste (MSW) incineration power-generating system in Taiyuan City as an example
the indices of each component in the plant
such as unit thermo-economic cost
cost difference
and exergy economic coefficient
etc. have been calculated and analysed by using the structural theory of thermo-economics. Results show that the vulnerable spots in energy utilization mainly to be the heat recovery boiler and the MSW incinerator
the causes are high unit price of fuel and high non-energy expenditure due to high exergy loss and high cost of MSW handling
besides
the equipments used for MSW incineration power-generating system can’t perfectly form a complete set
leading to higher non-energy expenditure of the feed-water pump and the condensate pump.
