CAUSE ANALYSIS ON DISTRIBUTED FROST-CRACKS OF FIN-TUBE BANDLES IN HAILER TYPE AIR-COOLED SYSTEM
Abstract
The title events have been analyzed. It is considered that the presure drop in the empty space would be generated while the water in the cooling column had been discharged in winter season
and the negative pressure established in the column would have been resulting in evaporation of circulating cooling water. Then
the evaporated cooling water would be condensed again
forming ice-tumours in fin-tubes with the result that tube-bandles would be blocked up
causing frost-cracks of aluminum tubes. In this paper some technical measures are recommended for preventing blockage by ice-tumours.
