By using the linear algebra the equivlent heat drop method has been extended to calculate not only the work done by the fresh steam but also the fractions of extracted steam and steam to condenser and to reheater
etc. This new method can be used to calculate the changes in the work done by fresh steam while the thermal system and any local parameters vary. Two examples are given to check the algorithm. It is found the results obtained by this method quite agree with that obtained by normal energy conservation method.
