Reverse osmosis have been applied to water treatment in chinese power plants for more than ten years. This paper describes in detail the reverse osmosis systems used in nine power plants as pretreatment and their operations. The operation experience in those power plants shows that the reverse osmosis equipttient
both inported and domestic
performs well
if the water before the reverse osmosis system can be pretreated to required quality in the aspects of fouling index
organic substances etc. Furthermore
in this paper are discussed the operation modes of reverse osmosis
parameter control
chemicals dosing and the place where chemicals are to be dosed. In the end this paper makes a technico-economical comparison of reverse osmosis in view of the Chinese conditions
which shows
that reverse osmosis will be economical if TDS of raw water is higher than 500mg/L.
