Common Defects and Improvement Countermeasure of Liquefied Gas Carrier Inspection Issue
It is to avoid liquefied gas tanker safety accidents in the transportation process
ensure the running safety of liquefied gas tanker. The failure analysis of several typical defects are done in the process of inspection such as pressure vessels tanks roundness beyond the standards
reinforcing ring crack
washboard crack
the base of gas phase tube crack and former saddle fillet weld crack. The corresponding solution measures are proposed. The results show that the main cause of most of the defects is improper handling in manufacturing and unreasonable structure design. The performance of the safety of tank can be improved through improving measures to reduce the defects. Roundness beyond the standards of tanks can be improved by changing manufacturing processes to enhance the stability of the roundness of tank. Using a new strengthening structure can reduce the reinforcing ring crack and former saddle fillet weld crack. Using high strength material to make washboard can reduce the wave plate crack.
