Research on new parallel helix winding and AC loss in permanent magnet synchronous motor
The eddy current loss in the flat wire winding lead to low efficiency and high temperature rise in the motor
increasing the risk of insulation aging in the motor. The key to suppressing the eddy current loss in the flat wire winding is the optimization design of the winding structure. The existing winding structure for suppressing the eddy current loss of the flat wire winding face issues such as low copper slot fill factor and high circulating current loss. Therefore
a new parallel helix winding(PHW)was proposed. The parallel split structure can effectively reduce the eddy current loss of the winding. Its helix structure can effectively reduce the circulating current loss
and also has a high copper slot fill factor. A 60 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)was taken as an example. Firstly
the structure of the new PHW and its loss reduction principle were introduced. Then
the AC loss of flat wire winding
split flat wire winding
and new PHW were compared by the 3-D finite element method. Finally
the effectiveness of the loss reduction effect of the new PHW was verified by the comparison experiment between the flat wire winding
the split flat wire winding and new PHW. The research shows that compared with the flat wire winding
the AC loss of the new parallel helix winding is reduced by 17.3% under the rated condition
and the AC loss is reduced by 47% under the high frequency condition.
