Research on design of novel phase-conversion and frequency-doubling brushless exciter
complex structure and low integration of traditional main-auxiliary exciter systems
a novel phase-conversion and frequency-doubling brushless exciter was proposed based on stator-rotor bilateral out-of-phase AC topology. On the conversion of three-phase power to a six-phase frequency-multiplied rotating rectifier power supply
the basic principle and structure were elaborated
tailored electromagnetic design criteria was established
and the optimal scheme was determined through key parameter analysis. A finite element model was built to investigate its electromagnetic characteristics under no-load and load conditions. For coupling-dominated high-order combined harmonics
a dual suppression method of double Y-shaped winding and stator skewed slot was proposed. Results show that the exciter features excellent AC waveform sinusoidality and stable DC output
providing a new technical path for high-quality low-ripple excitation power supplies.
