Fault-tolerant control with low torque ripple for five-phase IPMSM under single-phase open-circuit fault
To address the issues of reduced torque output capability and increased torque ripple when five-phase interior permanent magnet synchronous motor occurs single-phase open-circuit fault
a fault-tolerant vector control strategy based on zero permanent magnet torque ripple was proposed. Firstly
a reduced-or-der decoupling transformation matrix was constructed after the fault and establish the motor model in syn-chronous coordinate system. Secondly
based on the principle of constant magnetic motive force before and after the fault
a fault-tolerant vector control based on reduced-order decoupling transformation was established. Then
a set of current constraint equations with zero torque ripple was established. Analysis shows that the equations with strictly zero torque ripple have no solution. It can be concluded through comparison that permanent magnet torque ripple was relatively larger than reluctance torque ripple. Therefore
a fault-tolerant control strategy was chosen to minimize permanent magnet torque ripple. And based on this
the fault-tolerant current that maximizes the average output torque was solved. Finally
the proposed control strategy was validated through simulation and experiments. The results show that the method can improve the symmetry of the remaining healthy phase current
with 22. 21% reduction in the average value of current RMS and 53% reduction in the torque ripple
and enhance the torque output ca-pability under fault condition.
