The activities of pest animals pose a serious threat to the safe operation of reservoir dams. In response to the issue of pest control
this paper combines survey data on termites and other pest animals in reservoir projects in Liaoning Province over the years. It analyzes the types and characteristics of these pest animals from multiple perspectives and proposes targeted prevention and control measures
including chemical
physical
biological
engineering
and information technology approaches. The paper also examines the challenges associated with these methods and offers recommendations for improvement. The results show that rodent infestations are the primary threat to reservoir projects in Liaoning. Current traditional control methods
such as chemical pest control and engineering measures
have shown some effectiveness but require further refinement. This study provides valuable insights for the pest management in embankments in Liaoning and offers important reference points for ensuring the safe operation of reservoir projects.
