The estimation of regional water pollution load and the analysis of pollution sources are the fundamental work of regional water environment governance. By conducting water quantity and quality tests and data statistics

taking into account both point and non-point sources

the pollution load into rivers in Zhuhai City in 2018 was calculated. The results indicate that non-point source pollution is the main source of pollution in Zhuhai city. Point source pollution has a greater impact on the pollution load of COD(chemical oxygen demand)

TP(total phosphorus)

and TN(total nitrogen)

with contribution rates of 65.2%

86.8%

and 57.2%

respectively. While

point source pollution has a greater impact on the pollution load of NH_3-N(ammonia nitrogen)

with a contribution rate of 86.8%. The impact of point source pollution and non-point source pollution varies in different administrative regions

with Xiangzhou District emphasizing both point and non-point sources

while Doumen District and Jinwan District are mainly affected by non-point source pollution.
