The rampant growth of water hyacinth poses a serious threat to the water ecological security and flood discharge capacity of the Jianjiang River Basin. This study combines the optical images of Sentinel-2 and Gaofen-1
as well as the microwave images of Sentinel-1 and unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) images
to construct a multi-source remote sensing collaborative monitoring business model for water hyacinth. Based on the topological relationship of the water system
a digital water network traceability model is established to carry out 11 periods of dynamic monitoring and analysis of water hyacinth from 2022 to 2024. The results shows that the area of water hyacinth reached its peak of 2.011 million square meters in April 2022
sharply decreased by 89.1% to 219 600 square meters after cleaning in May
and remained below 14 400 square meters after cleaning in September; In April 2023
the area increased to 401 100 square meters
a decrease of 80.1% compared to the same period in 2022. After the clean-up
there was no large-scale coverage of floating lotus until November 2024
and the treatment effect continues to be maintained. The traceability of the digital water network model shows that the water hyacinth in front of the Lijia water gate mainly originates from the banks of the Helin River and slow flowing tributaries such as Tangzha River and Xiachongzi River. This study validates the advantages of multi-source remote sensing collaborative monitoring and digital water network technology in the monitoring and traceability of water hyacinth in cloudy and rainy areas
providing technical support for the coordinated scientific cleaning of water hyacinth in river basins and long-term prevention and control of water hyacinth disasters.
