Promoting the scale integration of rural water supply and optimizing the urban-rural water supply pattern are fundamental measures to improve the guarantee capacity of rural water supply and achieve high-quality development of rural water supply. The northeastern part of Guangdong Province is a mountainous area
and its rural water supply faces challenges such as scattered and uneven water sources
incomplete supporting facilities
and difficult and sustainable operation and maintenance. This article takes Wuhua County in Guangdong Province as a case study to conduct research. In response to the above challenges and following the development concept of large-scale integrated water supply
Wuhua County has gradually established a rural water supply development pattern of “scale development
standardized construction
integrated management
specialized operation
and intelligent service” by optimizing water source allocation
forming a networked water supply pattern
carrying out standardized construction
realizing county-level unified management and specialized management
and building an intelligent service system. This has effectively promoted the high-quality development of rural water supply. This development practice case can provide references for rural water supply work in similar regions.
