The Three Gorges Project is a key backbone project for protecting and managing the Yangtze River. In order to achieve stable prosperity for millions of immigrants and orderly economic and social development in the reservoir area

and fully leverage the enormous comprehensive benefits of the Three Gorges Project

the State Council approved the implementation of the Three Gorges Follow up Work Plan in 2011. Over the past decade

significant achievements have been made in the implementation of the plan

effectively ensuring the “Ten Safety Measures” of the Three Gorges Project

promoting high-quality development of the Three Gorges Reservoir area

and protecting the ecological environment and geological safety of the Three Gorges Reservoir area.This article discusses the vivid practice and main achievements of Three Gorges Follow up Work Plan from three aspects

and summarizes the implementation path to promote the safe operation of the Three Gorges Project and support the high-quality development of the reservoir area.
