Various energy storage technologies are suited to different application scenarios. To address the power and energy imbalance caused by high renewable energy integration in new power systems
the paper proposes an optimal configuration model for hybrid energy storage systems for new power systems considering multi-timescale coordination. The model aims to minimize the total life-cycle cost by comprehensively accounting for investment cost
operational loss
and load shedding penalties
thereby enabling optimal capacity allocation.Simulation studies based on typical daily power deficit of power grid are conducted to validate the proposed method
and the impacts of power deficit characteristics and storage configuration types are analyzed.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed model for hybrid energy storage systems can ensure the reliability of power supply under extreme weather conditions.
