has become one of the important tools for engineering geological investigations. In complex geological environments such as mines and hydraulic engineering
this technology relies on point cloud data to construct 3D models
significantly enhancing the efficiency and safety of tasks such as detecting mining voids and monitoring dam cracks. This paper systematically analyzes the application process of 3D laser scanning technology
including data collection
preprocessing
model construction
and accuracy validation
and demonstrates its practical application effects in scenarios such as modeling of voids and monitoring of dam deformation through case studies. However
this technology still faces three core challenges:low data processing efficiency
insufficient environmental adaptability of equipment
and lack of standardized implementation in engineering. In the future
research and development should focus on algorithm innovation
multi-sensor fusion
upgrading underground navigation systems
and the construction of industry standards to promote its comprehensive application in engineering geological investigations.
