To enhance the automatic control capability of mechanical draft cooling tower in large-capacity gas-steam combined cycle power plants
this paper proposes an automatic control strategy for cooling tower based on thermal equilibrium calculations. The strategy calculates the post-cooling water temperature using the relationship between the flow rate and the supply/return water temperatures of the circulating water system.By comparing this temperature with a preset target value
fuzzy control is implemented to regulate the running number of cooling tower fans. The adoption of this control strategy significantly improves the start-up compatibility between the cooling tower and the gas turbine combined cycle. The proposed strategy enhances the automatic control performance and overall operational economy of cooling tower
achieving energy conservation and emission reduction
