Abstract
Important transmission facilities (such as “three-crossing” and dense corridors) may cause regional blackouts or even electric shock accidents due to external force damage
making their effective monitoring and early warning crucial for the safe and stable operation of power grids as well as the safety of surrounding personnel. Perception methods based on vision and LiDAR can provide intuitive
intelligent
and timely feedback on external force damage in transmission corridors
enabling early assessment and response to potential hazards
and thus have attracted wide attention and in-depth research from scholars at home and abroad. This paper elaborates on the key technologies and research progress of intelligent perception methods for the prevention of external force damage in transmission line corridors. First
deep vision-based object detection technologies and their principles are introduced
and their application status and limitations in hazard detection of transmission corridors are analyzed. Second
the application of LiDAR-based active distance measurement technologies in monitoring hazards such as tree obstacles is summarized. Then
are systematically reviewed in terms of their methodological frameworks and applications. Finally
the challenges faced by current prevention of external force damage technologies in practical applications are discussed
and potential research directions and approaches are proposed. This research progress provides important technical supports and engineering reference for ensuring the intrinsic safety of transmission line corridors and preventing large-area blackouts.
