Aiming at the flow field characteristics of the fast-acting pilot valve of the operating mechanism of high-voltage circuit breaker under complex working conditions
such as high pressure and fast speed
we numerically simulated the transient flow field characteristics of the fast-acting pilot valve based on the k-ε turbulence model in the STAR-CCM+ software
and comparatively verified the pressure at the inlet of the fast-acting pilot valve through experiments. ICEM software was used to extract the flow channel model of a fast-acting pilot valve of a certain type of disk spring hydraulic operating mechanism
and dynamic mesh technology was used to simulate the unsteady flow during the valve port opening process. The influence laws of different valve port openings on velocity distribution
pressure fluctuations
and vorticity were systematically analyzed. The research results show that the simulation results of the pressure monitoring points are in good agreement with the experimental data
which verifies the accuracy of the model.During the process of opening the oil passage
the pressure fluctuation of the fast-acting pilot valve is as high as nearly 50 MPa.The fast-acting pilot valve is improved by increasing the gap between the spring cylinder and the valve body. After the improvement
both the pressure fluctuation and the maximum speed of the valve port are decreased. This research provides a theoretical basis for the prediction of dynamic characteristics and structural optimization design of fast-acting pilot valves for high-voltage circuit breaker operating mechanisms.
