photovoltaic power generation and electrochemical energy storage systems are all power sources by power electronic equipment interface. Although the technology of power electronic grid-connected equipment has developed rapidly in the past decade
with the continuous increase in the proportion of new energy power sources
the shortcomings of this type of power source in terms of anti-interference
transient support capability
flexibility
etc. have become more prominent
and the power system operation and control theory based on synchronous power sources has faced serious challenges. In order to cope with the construction of new power systems
this paper comprehensively reviews the existing wind
solar
and storage grid-connected equipment technologies. While analyzing the development of each technology
this paper clarifies the differences
analyzes the commonalities
explores the networking potentials of power electronic interface power sources
and provides and verifies the self-synchronous voltage source control technology of power electronic interface power sources. It is pointed out that the possible technical roadmap or solution towards the construction of new type power system is as follows: the power system transients are supported by the main power source type wind farms and photovoltaic power stations using the self-synchronous voltage source technology
and the steady-state power and electricity balance of the power system is regulated by various energy storage
wide operating range synchronous power sources and power markets. This is a solution to building a new power system with a high proportion of new energy.
