In order to solve the problems of large leakage current
significant grid current harmonic distortion
and DC-side power ripple of traditional single-phase rectifiers
we propose a common-ground bridgeless power factor correction (PFC) rectifier topology. The topology eliminates the common mode voltage through the common ground connection between the power grid and the load
and the leakage current tends to zero in theory. The device multiplexing design is used to reduce the hardware cost
and the power decoupling and step-down function can be realized in the absence of additional devices or active buffering. The harmonic suppression algorithm is introduced to reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the input current and achieve power factor correction. The DC side ripple is suppressed by combining the intermediate capacitor transient energy storage and the secondary ripple suppression algorithm. At the same time
the topology supports bidirectional energy flow
which expands its potential in inverter application scenarios. The experimental results show that the effective value of leakage current of the proposed rectifier is only 7.69 mA and the peak efficiency is 96.1% at 500 W rated power. The input current THD is significantly reduced
and the secondary ripple on the DC side is suppressed to less than 10% that of the traditional scheme. The rectifier effectively solves the target problems and has the comprehensive advantages of low leakage current and low harmonics.
