To address the issue of constraint violations caused by net load fluctuations in unit dispatch
this paper proposes a heuristic ramp constraint adjustment strategy by leveraging priority list approach to mitigate frequent variations of generation output. First
an initial unit dispatch solution is obtained by considering the system power balance
spinning reserve
and unit output boundary constraints. Then
an approximate solution is derived using the minimum start/stop time constraint unit adjustment strategy and the redundant unit adjustment strategy. Two distinct ramp-constrained unit adjustment strategies are developed by considering system power balance and demand response
respectively. Additionally
a precise redundant/deficient unit adjustment strategy that incorporates ramp rate constraints is proposed. Finally
the differences in unit cold/hot start costs are taken into consideration
and the final unit dispatch solution is obtained through a unit start-up mode adjustment strategy. Simulation results indicate that the priority list based approach adjusts the generation output to satisfy ramping constraints and quickly generates the dispatch results through a heuristic adjustment strategy while reducing operating costs by regulating redundant/deficient unit outputs.
