As one of the core components in high-precision electronic components
the coordination of key parameters of various materials has a significant impact on temperature coefficient of resistance and the highest temperature rise. From the perspective of the coordination of optimizing material parameters
this article conducted synergistic optimization research on temperature coefficient of resistance that affects the precision and stability of the resistance values of metal foil resistors
as well as the highest temperature rise that affects their service life. The key material parameters that simultaneously affect the temperature coefficient of resistance and the highest temperature rise were analyzed
and the finite element method was used to calculate temperature coefficient of resistance and the highest temperature rise corresponding to different set of material parameters. The Pareto solution set was obtained through the NSGA2 genetic algorithm
and TOPSIS optimization model was established. The optimized material parameters were obtained and verified through simulation. The results indicate that the key material parameters that simultaneously affect the temperature coefficient of resistance and the highest temperature rise are: resistivity ρm and thermal expansion coefficient αm of metal foil
thermal expansion coefficient αc of ceramic substrates
and the thermal conductivity of the adhesive λr. Optimized material parameters are: ρm=1.2 μΩ·m
αm=14.8×10−6 ℃−1
αc=7.4×10−6 ℃−1
λr=0.8 W·(m·K)−1.According to the optimized material parameters
the prototype of the improved metal foil resistor was prepared with a temperature coefficient of resistance of 1.92 and a maximum temperature rise of 63.9 ℃. The temperature coefficient of resistance is 38.26% and 32.81% lower than that of the unimproved resistor
respectively. The above research methods can provide a certain reference value for the multi performance synergistic optimization of metal foil resistors.
