To address the issues associated with the application of eco-friendly insulating gas C4F7N in gas-insulated equipment (GIE) and the treatment of its hazardous decomposition byproducts
we conducted a systematic exposition and analysis. First
an in-depth analysis of the potential risks of C4F7N during equipment operation was conducted
with particular focus on the potential hazards of its decomposition products to the safety of equipment operation and the health of maintenance personnel. Second
due to the obvious limitations of traditional adsorbent materials such as activated carbon and molecular sieves in dealing with C4F7N decomposition products
metal-organic framework (MOFs) materials demonstrate remarkable potentials as high-performance adsorbent materials because of their high specific surface area
adjustable structural characteristics
and superior adsorption performance. Third
we further explored the advantages of MOFs@NFs (MOFs loaded on nanofibers) composite materials
which combine the adsorption capacity of MOFs with the mechanical strength of nanofibers
significantly improving adsorption efficiency and material stability. Moreover
due to their low cost and the ability to be produced in large quantities
they show great potentials for wide application in the field of eco-friendly gas-insulated equipment. Finally
it is concluded that eco-friendly insulating gases represented by C4F7N still require further efforts to research practical engineering challenges not yet fully resolved for complete SF6 replacement.
