Switch Matrix-controlled Series-parallel Hybrid Flexible Interconnection Equipment and Its Fault-tolerant Mechanism
Flexible interconnection plays a pivotal role in enhancing both the reliability and operational flexibility of distribution networks. Current power electronic interconnection devices are hindered by high costs and maintenance complexities
while traditional phase-shifting interconnection devices exhibit limited accuracy and slow response times. To address these issues
this paper proposes the Switch matrix-controlled series-parallel hybrid transformer (SCHT)
a novel approach that utilizes a switch matrix-based control strategy. The SCHT enables the flexible selection of switch matrix topologies and types
thereby accommodating the distinct technical
economic
and regulatory demands of various operational scenarios. The study develops a comprehensive two-port equivalent circuit and mathematical model for the SCHT
offering a clear understanding of its regulation mechanism. By capitalizing on the redundancy afforded by multiple switch configurations within a single operational mode
this paper introduces a fault-tolerant operational strategy to mitigate the impact of failures in individual switching devices. The accuracy of the proposed model and the effectiveness of the fault-tolerant mechanism are validated through simulations and a 10 kV prototype testing.
