A Bipolar Half-bridge LLC Resonant Converter With Interpolar Voltage Self-balancing Capability for Bipolar DC Power Supply System
Bipolar DC microgrids have emerged as an excellent power supply solution for green and low-carbon data centers due to their characteristics
such as high flexibility
reliability
and safety. However
their widespread adoption has been hindered by voltage imbalance issues between the positive and negative polarities. This paper proposes a bipolar half-bridge LLC resonant converter with inherent interelectrode voltage self-balancing capability. The proposed converter achieves automatic voltage balancing solely through its circuit structure
which avoid the extra need of external balancing circuit and balancing control strategies. Furthermore
the converter structure is scalable
enabling automatic voltage balancing among multiple outputs. Notably
the proposed converter retains the original control and driving mode of the traditional LLC resonant converter. This paper firstly elaborates on the topology derivation process and operational principles of the proposed converter. Subsequently
the performance characteristics are analyzed and compared in detail. Finally
a 1 kW experimental prototype is constructed
and the experimental results effectively validate the theoretical analysis.
