Improved Model Predictive Torque Control for Nine-phase Open-end Winding Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
Model predictive torque control (MPTC) has been widely applied in motor drive systems due to its fast dynamic response and high control precision. However
for multiphase open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs)
the large number of voltage vectors results in significant computational burden in cost function evaluation
while the traditional duty ratio calculation is not only complex but also heavily reliant on accurate motor parameters. To address these challenges
this paper proposes an improved MPTC method. Based on a synthesized set of 18 non-zero virtual voltage vectors
a flux deadbeat predictive strategy is employed for directly calculating the reference voltage vector
thereby avoiding the cost function iteration and the repeated tuning of weighting factors
which significantly reduces computational complexity. In addition
a simplified duty ratio calculation method is proposed
which eliminates the dependence on the motor resistance and inductance
reducing computational complexity and improving the control system’s adaptability to parameter variations. Comparative experiments with a conventional MPTC method demonstrate that the proposed approach effectively reduces computation time while achieving good control performance and parameter robustness.
