Integrated Satellite-terrestrial Power Communication Networks for New-type Power Systems: Architecture, Technology and Application
With the accelerated development of new-type power systems
the existing terrestrial power communication network can no longer meet the communication demands of emerging scenarios and services. Integrated satellite-terrestrial networks incorporating LEO satellites-characterized by global coverage
space-ground redundancy
and high-speed reliability-offer a viable solution to these challenges. This article first elaborates on the background
development
and communication capabilities of integrated satellite-terrestrial networks
providing a reference for power system applications. Furthermore
to address the communication challenges in new-type power systems
this study innovatively proposes an integrated satellite-terrestrial power communication network architecture incorporating LEO satellites. A systematic analysis of security threats and corresponding protection measures is presented
followed by a comprehensive design methodology for the network control system. Key technologies in integrated satellite-terrestrial power communication networks are discussed from five perspectives: network routing algorithms
satellite-terrestrial collaborative transmission
network resource management
network mobility management
and gateway station layout optimization. Finally
the innovative applications of the integrated satellite-terrestrial communication network in four major scenarios of new-type power systems are explored
including wide-area renewable energy integration
transmission line inspection and monitoring
emergency communication
and infrastructure construction supervision
with corresponding application frameworks designed. In the concluding section
we outline future research directions to deepen the convergence between satellite-terrestrial power communication networks and new-type power systems.
