This paper proposes an SP-type coreless flyback converter based on the transient PT-symmetric principle. Initially
the transient PT-symmetric characteristics of the SP-type topology are analyzed
revealing its frequency splitting and decay rate splitting mechanisms under unexcited conditions. Subsequently
the dynamic regulation of energy transfer modes by load resistance is elucidated through coupled-mode equations and eigenvalue analysis of circuit equations. By applying the transient PT-symmetric properties of the SP-type topology to a flyback converter
a coreless flyback converter is realized. Experimental results demonstrate that the transient PT-symmetric SP-type coreless flyback converter achieves over 97% efficiency
12.5 W output power
and 89% overall system efficiency. With an isolation transformer frequency of 140 kHz and switching frequency of 40 kHz (only 28.6% of the transformer frequency)
this work proves the feasibility of implementing coreless transformer structures in flyback converters. The significantly reduced switching frequency relative to transformer frequency enhances both cost-effectiveness and operational reliability.
