Efficient Degradation Methods for Anhydride-cured Epoxy Resins and Their Composites
Epoxy resins are widely used in the field of electrical equipment manufacturing by virtue of their excellent comprehensive performance
but their highly cross-linked three-dimensional mesh structure hinders the recycling and reuse of retired electrical equipment. In this paper
an efficient degradation method of anhydride-cured epoxy resin based on ester exchange reaction is proposed under the action of alkaline catalyst and using alcohol reagent as degradation solvent
and the effects of reaction temperature
type of alcohol reagent
as well as type and content of catalyst on the degradation performance are systematically investigated. The results show that the degradation of epoxy resin is optimized when the ratio of benzyl alcohol to tripotassium phosphate is 1.1:0.056 and the reaction temperature is 195℃. The proposed method can achieve efficient degradation and near lossless recovery of dry type transformer and fiber composite materials; the mechanical retention rate of recovered fibers reaches 94.95 %; the electrical properties of the regenerated composite materials can be maintained at a rate of up to 94.72 %; the mechanical properties of the regenerated composite materials can be maintained at a rate of up to 94.21 %
which can provide an effective theoretical basis and technical support for the recycling of retired electrical materials.
