Review of Research on Combustion Thermoacoustic Coupling Oscillation and Control Methods
The thermoacoustic coupling oscillation (TACO) of combustion is a syntonic phenomenon
which often occurs between the heat release pulsation of flame and the inherent acoustic pulsation of combustion chamber. TACO exerts significant influence on the stability and performance of the combustion system
which can lead to the component fatigue in low-cycle or high-cycle
the flame instability and flame-out
and even fatal damage to the combustion chamber. This paper aims to systematically grasp the development process of TACO and point out the direction for further research. This study introduces the formation mechanism of TACO based on its fundamental process
and then summarizes the representative works on TACO from perspectives of the theoretical analyses
numerical simulations
experimental researches
and control methods. Finally
the challenges and future directions of TACO applications are pointed out. Further research on TACO should focus on improving the nonlinear thermoacoustic theory
constructing multi-scale models
and developing acoustic suppressors with adaptive suppression functions.
