Random Noise Injection Methods in Electromagnetic Transient Simulation of Power Systems and Their Impact on the Statistical Characteristics of System's Stochastic Response
The uncertain output such as wind and solar and the random fluctuation of load can be regarded as the external random disturbance of "Double High" power systems. Such disturbance can be modeled as random noise injected into deterministic power systems. The modeling and simulation of random noise is the key to simulate the stochastic dynamic system and ensure the simulation results conform to the actual system statistical characteristics. To simulate the influence of random disturbance on power systems in mature electromagnetic transient simulation softwares
a random noise modeling and calculation method is proposed in this paper. This method does not change the basic computing architecture of the existing electromagnetic transient simulation program (EMTP) based on node analysis
and can ensure the statistical characteristics of the system's stochastic response are consistent under different simulation steps. Firstly
this paper theoretically explains the mechanism by which the statistical characteristics of the system's stochastic response to Gaussian white noise vary with the simulation step size in EMTP. It is proved that the statistical characteristics of the system's stochastic response to the colored noise with specific correlations do not vary with the simulation step size. Then
this paper proposes modeling standards for colored noise in EMTP and an analytical calculation method of theoretical value of the statistical characteristics. Two common methods for constructing colored noise are provided. Finally
based on CloudPSS simulation platform
the proposed random noise modeling and calculation method are verified. The statistical characteristics of system's stochastic response under different simulation steps and different noise modeling methods are also compared and analyzed.
