Dynamic Response and Coupling Effects of Ocean Current Variations on the Hybrid 10MW Triple Spar Floating Wind Turbine
they are subject to increasingly complex environmental loads. The complexity of ocean current changes also increases with water depth. In this paper
the DTU10 MW floating wind turbine supported by the Triple Spar platform is taken as the research object
and the effects of variable currents and nonlinear currents on its dynamic response and coupling mechanism are investigated based on the combined theories of leaf element momentum and potential flow with stratified currents. It is found that the dynamic response of the floating wind turbine is suppressed to a certain extent under the effect of the current-coupled wind waves
and the dynamic response of the floating wind turbine is more intense under the nonlinear currents compared with that of the linear currents. The response of the floating wind turbine's initial state is intensified as the current speed increases. The heave motion's amplitude increases and then decreases
reaching a maximum at 1.5 m/s. The motion's amplitude in all other degrees of freedom is suppressed. Correlation analyses show that the current effects are variable: surge and sway are associated with pitch and heave reverse variations
surge and sway synergistic variations
and heave and pitch synergistic variations. The two moorings #1 and #3 vary synergistically but inversely to mooring #2. The synergistic and inverse variations can provide a reference for dynamic response monitoring and stability control of floating wind turbines.
