Abstract
As a new type of power cycles
Kalina cycle possesses the characteristic of the non-isothermal evaporation
which can effectively reduce irreversible losses and has significant advantages in the recovery and utilization of low-temperature waste heat resources and low-grade heat source conversion. In this paper
the current research status on the energy
exergy
economy
and environmental (4E) analysis of Kalina cycle systems with four configurations are summarized. The variations in evaluation indicators such as net output power
thermal efficiency
exergy efficiency
and electricity generation costs with respect to key parameters like ammonia-water mass fraction
turbine inlet temperature and pressure
and heat source temperature have been outlined
with the causes for these changes being analyzed. The environmental aspects of the cycle such as life cycle assessment are also investigated. The engineering cases of Kalina cycle power generation system are listed. Finally
the future development directions of Kalina cycle are concluded. This paper serves as a reference for the performance analysis and related research of the Kalina cycle
and is helpful to promote the technical progress and application expansion in Kalina-cycle field.
