Summary of Differences Between Hydrogen Production From Offshore Wind Power and Direct Outward Transmission of Electric Energy
“Against the backdrop of achieving the "dual carbon" goal, the country is vigorously developing clean energy such as wind power, and offshore wind energy development has become an important direction for wind power development. However, the transmission of electricity and the integration of large capacity offshore wind power into the grid have become the main bottleneck issues restricting the rapid development of offshore wind power. To solve this problem, a strategy of using hydrogen energy instead of wind power for offshore energy transmission has been proposed. By using electrolytic hydrogen production technology to convert electrical energy into hydrogen energy on-site, hydrogen pipelines are constructed to transport hydrogen gas to land. Compared with traditional power transmission methods, pipeline hydrogen transmission greatly reduces construction difficulty and costs, providing new ideas for the development of offshore wind power and helping to achieve the "dual carbon" goal as soon as possible.”
