Experimental Study on Corrosion Characteristics of Ternary Mixed Chloride Salt NaCl-KCl-MgCl2
Molten salt is the most widely used heat storage material in solar thermal power stations currently. In order to meet the heat storage requirements of the solar thermal power generation system for molten salt
four stainless steels of 304
316L
321 and 310S were placed in the ternary mixed chlorinated salt NaCl-KCl-MgCl
2
(7:1:2) system at 550℃ to study corrosion characteristics and explore corrosion mechanisms. The research results indicate that 310S shows good corrosion resistance and 304 shows poor corrosion resistance in the NaCl-KCl-MgCl

(7:1:2) system of ternary mixed chlorinated salts. The formation of MoO

NiO and TiO

oxides can improve the corrosion resistance of 316L
310S and 321. The Cl

produced by mixed chloride salts at high temperature is an important cause of corrosion of stainless steel

and H

O in the outside air will infiltrate into the molten salt and react with the alloy to accelerate the corrosion.
