运用叶片离心泵的工作原理与设计理论，结合沅江４０－１５型立式离心蜗壳泵的现场实际与当今实用新技术，采用变形单级单吸平衡筋型动叶轮，且相应增大出口流道和进口断面，改变叶片型线及合理的运行方式等，泵效率较设计值８８５％提高１２％～２％，较实际值６７６％提高２０％～２３％。
