Abstract

According to the characteristics of feedwater process of the drum boiler

an adaptive PID controller with process identification was introduced.Recursive least square method was used to adjust the parameters of the PID controller

which was applied in three-element control system of boiler drum level.MATLAB simulation showed that

compared to the conventional PID algorithm

the proposed control scheme had good dynamic and static performances and could adapt itself to the change of plant parameters

thus proving its strong robustness and adaptation.
