Based on the tripping incident of a main transformer in 500kV Yuntian substation in Hunan province

this paper analyzes the fault property by chromatography

and further provides an important basis for the fault diagnosis and treatment.In addition

according to the High-voltage test examination situation

the field overhaul plan is determined

and the advice for the reform of shell type transformer is also proposed.
