Abstract

An experimental method of measuring leakage current of DC 500 kV arrester without lead conductor removal（ equipotential shield method） in Echeng converter substation is put forward in this paper. The basic principle and process of this method are introduced

and matters need attention and precautions are analyzed. Practical experience shows that the proposed method has high accuracy and strong anti-interference ability which adapts to measuring leakage current of DC 500 kV arrester in Echeng converter substation.
