In this paper

a distributed optical fiber monitoring system based on Rayleigh scattering is developed by using OTDR principle

which can distinguish the vibration events around optical fiber effectively

and give warning and early intervention to the risk of external breakage that hinders the normal operation of optical fiber cable.Thus

the probability of accidental interruption of optical fiber cable is reduced

and the intrinsic safety level of power grid is improved.
