Analysis and Treatment ofVibration Fault Mechanism during Start up of Harbin Steam Turbine s illion kilowatt SecondaryReheating Steam Turbine
This study investigates a typical failure occurring in the N100032/600/620/620 MW secondary reheat units at Harbin Steam Turbine Plant of a power plant
where severe vibration emerged during cold startup at 48.6 r/min
with bearings #1–#4 reaching full range vibration and triggering unit shutdown
accompanied by bearing seizure in #2 and #3
pad fracture
and abnormalities in the journal oil system. Addressing the common low-speed vibration issues prevalent in similar Harbin Steam units
a comprehensive analysis was conducted covering aspects such as shaft structure
sliding pin expansion
journal oil properties
dynamic-static clearance
and rotor residual imbalance to trace fault mechanisms and analyze coupling effects. Through integrated measures—including on-site disassembly inspection
precise shaft measurement
full-process improvement of the journal oil system
sliding pin clearance adjustment
startup curve optimization
and dynamic balancing calibration—the unit was successfully restarted after one attempt
with all bearing vibrations remaining consistently within optimal ranges. These findings provide valuable engineering references and practical guidance for vibration control in domestic secondary reheat units of similar configuration.
