Study of dynamic response of multilayered road structures based on transmission-reflection matrix method
The theoretical solutions of elastic multilayered road structures under dynamic double-circular loads are derived using the transmission-reflection matrix (TRM) method and the superposition principle. By employing inverse Hankel transformation
the numerical results are obtained. The transmission-reflection matrices of elastic layered structure are of small size and free of any numerically unstable exponential terms which may greatly increase its efficiency and accuracy in applications. As a result
the TRM method can be valid for the large layer thickness and high frequency cases. The presented methodology is validated by comparing solutions with laboratory model tests. Some numerical results are presented and used to analyze the influence of pavement thickness and modulus on the vertical stress and displacement. The research results can be for reference in design of the road pavement and subgrade.
