A review of the creep behavior of soil and its constitutive models is performed. The contents of the review include the influences of time and stress on soil creep
the criterion for creep failure
the relation between creep potential and plastic potential
microscopic mechanism of soil creep
macroscopic and microscopic creep models. Based on the review
equivalent deformation processes for soil are proposed. The proper description of time effect in creep model is discussed. A method for accelerating creep test is proposed.
