construction schemes for metro station of twin-bore tunnel with expanding construction based on shield tunnels are studied. Main research contents are the feasibility of expanding construction method and the displacement rule of stratum displacement. The contrast between results of the model test and 2D numerical simulation of the expanding construction with the finite difference method is carried out. Results show that the construction scheme for metro station of twin-bore tunnel with expanding construction by central drift method is feasible. But reinforcing the surrounding rock of the bottom and vault of tunnel arches are necessary during the expanding construction. The vertical displacement distribution of surrounding rock appears the U-shape after expanding construction. The displacement of surrounding rock decreases with its mechanical parameters. Reinforcing the surrounding rock at the bottom of tunnel arches is an effective method for reducing its displacement. The settlement curve of the ground surface appears approximately normal distribution
and the influencing breadth is 3 times as breadth as station of twin-bore structure.
