Site condition and fault movement are the main reasons of buried pipeline’s damage. It is the main problem of earthquake lifeline engineering to avoid the damage of buried pipelines affected by site condition and faults under earthquake load. By the parasolid modeling in ADINA
through the definition of site body and Boolean operation
the geometry model is established for the analysis of buried pipeline damage
and finite element modeling of soil-fault-pipe is worked out. With model preferences
parameters of the model are defined
such as the characteristics of rock and soil
characteristics of pipeline. Pipe-soil friction and fixity are applied
and loads of earthquake wave and fault displacement are defined. According to the calculating results
influence of some parameters on the damage of buried pipeline under earthquake load are investigated
such as buried depth
parameters of faults
and pipe-soil friction. The deeper of burying and the bigger of fault throw
the easier of pipe deformation and damage. Optimum volume of pipe-soil friction coefficient and cut angle between fault and pipeline are obtained. Finally
some advices are proposed for the protection of buried pipelines in engineering.
