Analysis of elastic plate resting on Winkler foundation subjected to moving load by isoparametric element method
Using 8-nodes isoparametric element based on Mindlin plate theory and Newmark method
the dynamic responses of both thin and thick elastic plates resting on Winkler foundation subjected to moving load are analyzed. The results of thin plates are compared with the available results obtained by finite strip method. The effects of velocity
foundation modulus
and system damping ratio are studied. Results indicate that the system has an inherent resonant velocity. The foundation modulus is the key factor determining the resonant velocity. The deflection shapes of thin plates are significantly different from those of thick plates. Results also show the efficiency and accuracy of the presented method. Some of these findings can be applied to practical engineering.
