One-dimensional consolidation of soft clays under cyclic loadings taking into account the impeded boundaries is studied in this paper. According to the solution in the condition of constant loading
the analytical solution under cyclic loading is obtained using the integral. method Based on the analytical solutions
the influence of loading and boundary conditions on the consolidation behavior of soils is investigated and It can be seen that a decrement in permeability of sand mat and subjacent bed will reduce the rate of consolidation significantly and that the consolidation rate and the pore water pressure reach the maximum and the minimum once in each cycle for cyclic loading.
