Silts and silts treated with some additives are studied. These additives include 4 % lime
2 % cement and 2 % lime
4 % SEU-2 solidified agent
and 8 % SEU-2 solidified agent
respectively. Unconsolidated undrained triaxial tests and consolidated undrained triaxial tests are used to study characteristics of strength and deformation of silts at various ages and with different additives. Test results show that the stress-strain curves of silts and stabilization silts are primarily softening
and that SEU-2 solidified agent can apparently improve the cohesion of silts. Comparing the strength parameters of stabilization silts treated with different additives
it is considered that adding SEU-2 solidified agent is the most effective method to stabilize silts.
